Yoga helps children relax and focus with loving attention. It counters the bustle and busyness that is the hallmark of our modern era. We live in a time when human sensory systems are stimulated exponentially more than in prior generations. The mega-input that our children receive, and the dissipation of energy needed to process it all is one of the biggest issues facing our youth today.
Yoga encourages a kind of radical slowing down from a child’s hurry-up world of busy parents, school pressures, incessant activity, and excessive screen time. Yoga helps children care for their bodies and minds so they can navigate navigate life’s challenges with a little more ease. It is a great gift to give our children.
